today two girls from work, kaleigh and claire, came into brooklyn. we met up and went to brunch. it was so nice we got to sit outside. it was a treat! after brunch we walked up to the promenade.
the big plans for the day was to make our way to the brooklyn botanical gardens in park slope. we heard it is the best time of the year to go and since we get in free with our cnn passes decided it was a good idea.
there are a lot of pictures so try to stick with me!
i know i have said it before, but i can't believe that something so spacious exists in the city. having an opportunity to go to a destination such as this makes it so much easier to live here.
we thought this tree was a perfect climbing tree. the guy in the background jumped in the picture at the last second with claire. we had no idea who he was but thought it was hilarious. right after this he got yelled at for being in the tree by a crazy security guard on an ego trip!
the cherry blossoms were stunning!
this was a japanese garden. it was so neat. there were huge koi and turtles in the pond. i thought it was picturesque how the orange arbor was reflecting off the water.
there was the sweetest old lady who set up a little studio and was painting. i took a peek as i was walking by and she was pretty good!
now don't get me wrong i thought the gardens were beautiful but i have to say it wasn't what i expected. i didn't really see any gardens. i just felt like i was walking through a park with REALLY nice landscaping. even so, i would definitely go back. who wants to join?!
