random ct getaway

on sunday justin, kierstin, and i got out of the city and headed towards connecticut. we went to the maritime aquarium in norwalk, ct. we tried taking as many pictures as possible, in fact i think justin was getting a bit annoyed with me asking if he took a picture. now here comes a marathon of pictures....

right when you walked in the aquarium, there was a spot for the seals. their tank was half inside and half outside. the seals were so graceful swimming around. and they were so interested in all of the people. there was this one that swam with his head right above the water right and the eye line of the kids. they thought that was the coolest thing ever!

definitely my favorite part of the aquarium was the sting ray petting tank. i never have had the opportunity to pet them so i took full advantage. they felt so cool. my best comparison would be that they felt like raw chicken. kierstin and i were like little kids all over again!!

the king fish were all together in a huge tank. they were majestic.

the penguins were so cute. this is my favorite picture of all of them. the little boy behind the glass looks like he is longing to hug the penguin.

this turtle was gigantic! his head was the same size as many of the kid's. i was so amazed by the turtle, i too was glued to the glass along side the kids. i was getting a few disappointed looks from the parents.

these fish were really neat. they were in a big cylindrical tank. all of them where swimming around and around with their mouths open. i thought following a black line for 15 years made me go slightly crazy, this definitely tops me!

the frogs were adorable, minus the whole poisonous thing. i couldn't believe how vibrant their color was.

here is a fun one justin doctored up!

i know justin loved the aquarium but i think his favorite part was finding dairy queen! it was an old fashion, free standing, barn looking dairy queen!

I love the pictures, and the short film, too. Wish we could have been there. It's so comforting to know that some things just don't change. I love you guys.
