san gennaro

this weekend was uneventful as usual. however i did make it out on the town saturday night. i met up with jess in the city for san gennaro. when she asked if i wanted to go out to dinner in little italy i was said "yes" right away but i had no clue what i was getting myself into.

san gennaro is a festival in little italy. all of the restaurants on mulberry open up seating areas out into the streets, a lot of different street vendors, and of course carnies! everything is based around the italian theme. i got to experience my first zeppole, which i thought was good. it is like an elephant ear only in a ball and with powdered sugar. we walked up and down mulberry for quite a while taking in all of the activity. we all saw danny aiello signing autographs and jess snuck a picture for her mom. there were a lot of interesting people there too which made for great people watching! all in all it was a good time.
