the whole purpose of me walking around brooklyn was to see the waterfalls that have been placed up the east river. there where more than i thought. one right by the promenade, one by the statue of liberty off governer's island (hello govana!), one under the brooklyn bridge, and then one over by the lower east side of the city. they are quite interesting. i have never seen anything like it. see for yourself...
since the waterfalls went in they have put in a "pop-up park". it is right on the water with green areas, picnic tables, and even a little restaurant. i didn't stop to eat but it looked like what they had to offer was pretty good. i'd like to go back and take in the full experience.
after i ventured around the pop-up park a bit more i made my way into dumbo to do a little shopping then to another park i frequent often. when i was at the park there was a pirate ship voyaging under the brooklyn bridge...
also at the in the green area they had sprinkler running. the little kids were loving it. there were these two little boys playing soccer and were drenched, but they were soaking up every minute of it, literally!
on my back to my part of brooklyn and chatting it up with jenna i saw people walking their pigs. yes pigs! only in new york would you see people walking their pet pigs down the road. everyone of course was stopping to look and take pictures.
so that was my sunday adventure through brooklyn in a nut shell!
