so this weekend oakland swam against princeton. unfortunately i did not get to see them swim but, peter being the cool coach he is, let the team come into the city on saturday. it was really great seeing friends and familiar faces. i took katie and riley all around the city. first we walked up and down times square. the got suckered in by the fake purse guys. katie bought one and riley got three! after that we walked up to rockafeller center and saw the tree, the today show, and the ice skating rink. they just brought the tree in on friday and it was in the process of being put up. since we were right there by 5th ave, we walked up to central park and then over to columbus circle and i showed them where i worked. no trip no new york city is complete if you don't ride the subway. so i took them down to ground zero on the train and then we walked to battery park so they could see the statue of liberty. once we were done seeing all of that we came back up to times square to eat and then back over to 5th ave to shop a bit. it was definitely a jammed packed day, but it sure was a great time. i am looking forward to the next vistors!
