christmas in florida

this year oscar and i spent christmas in florida. i must say it was a bit odd being in the warm weather on christmas but i could definitely get used to it. the first night there we went on a dinner cruise. i was a bit leery at first but i will be the first to admit that it was so much fun. grandma, mom, dad and i cruised around, ate prime rib and took in the sunset. how can that not be great?! it was also really fun to see everything from a different perspective. i think my favorite part was cruising by all of the houses after the sun set and look in to the houses that had their lights on. i know it is weird, but admit it, you're jealous.

we opened presents on christmas eve. grandma went all out for oscar. he was so excited digging through his presents. by the end of the night he figured out that the sound of tissue paper meant presents so he came running every time.


i got grandma kate spade dominoes. i loved them. i think by the look on her face she did too. at least i hope so!


we did manage to squeeze in some beach time. the weather was absolutley perfect. while mom and dad walked the beach looking for sea glass, grandma and i bathed ourselves in the sun. dad spied a snowman on the beach. we have snow, they have sand. it is one way to improvise. i think it is pretty darn cute.

justin, kierstin and her parents were also able to stop by on their way down to their warm destiniation on christmas day. it was great spending time with everyone even if was short. i loved spending the holiday in florida and i know oscar did too. i especially enjoyed my time with grandma. i am putting in my reservation for next year!
