so this past weekend i attacked the city and did my christmas shopping! saturday i met up with claire and megan up at union square for brunch and then shopping at the market. we had brunch at friend of a farmer. it was so good. they bring your meals out in skillets and there is fresh corn bread and apple butter and your table. the cornbread and apple butter is what sold me! the inside is really cute too. there is a big brick fire place with old expose beams. it felt like i was in the heart of farm country! i got a snap shot of the inside.
after that we made our way over to union square to walk through the holiday market. there are a bunch of red a white tents that have taken over the square. they are filled with all sorts of little goodies. there has to be around 100 different merchants there so there is a lot of variety. some crazy cool or not so good at all!
from there we went down to chinatown. in all of the times that i had visited new york and now living here i had never been there. i will tell you this. i will never go back. once is enough for me.
